The West Augusta chapter works to ensure every resident has direct access to their municipal government, meaningful agency over their future, and the ability to hold all power — public, corporate, and algorithmic — accountable.

Organize independent oversight of local municipal spending and decision-making to ensure transparency.

Anti-Federalist Candidates

Recruit and support candidates for mayor and city council who uphold our principles.

Data Sovereignty Ordinances

Push for city-level protections ensuring residents own their digital data and algorithmic transparency is enforced.

Community Broadband

Establish public broadband infrastructure as a utility, ensuring universal internet access regardless of income.

Federal Farmer (Richard Henry Lee) • 1787-10-27

October 12th, 1787.Dear Sir,It will not be possible to establish in the federal courts the jury trial of the vicinage so well as in the state courts. Third. There appears to me to be not only a premature deposit of some important powers in the general government — but many of those deposited there are undefined, and may be used to good or bad purposes as honest or designing men shall prevail.
